What a wonderful place you created for all of us. Thanks, Hilly and Cam! ...I hope something new will grow to replace it.

What? Only one comment? This was an incredible landmark that was a forum for incredible live music that enriched Tehachapi and all surrounding regions. In Europe there would have been mass protests! I used to brave the canyons and bears to visit from Lake Isabella and be amazed.
Hilly and Cameron, how are things in New York? Have you a club yet - I will audition!

Sorry to weigh in so late on the closing of Mama Hillybeans- I want to say thank you to Hillary and Cameron, not only for your wonderful venue but for being SO supportive of the artists and audience. In particular, I appreciate you giving my daughter a forum to jumpstart her own little traveling troubador career. Your early nurturing of her was crucial to her self-confidence and development as a performer. Oh, and the music was always a treat-- particular kudos to you for showcasing Gurf Morlix, Ellis Paul, and a few other incandescent musicians. Best to you and good luck with future endeavors.

Thanks Hilly and Cam for the opportunity to become friends with so many great musicians, artists, writers and creative people. You gave us all a venue to come together as a community. I'll always be very proud of what we accomplished. We can achieve much when we come together.

I so appreciated your wonderful spot on the planet. It always seems a long drive from Lancaster and once I got to Mama Hillybean's I was always thrilled to be there. Thank you for the marvelous music you provided...Gurf Morlix was high on my list, loved Rachel Sedacca, and others whose names escape me right now. AND got to hear many of the superb shows on Folkscene, thanks to Peter Cutler's diligence. You provided Tehachapi with a very special spot in the world and you are truly missed.

We used to stop in every year on our way through or to get to the PCT trailhead. Our son used to play with your daughter and the other kids there. We so looked forward to our visits there. We are very sorry to hear that mama hilly's is closed. We will sincerely miss you.

Was looking for something great to do this weekend so naturally went to look at your schedule and see what was happening. Boy, what a sad surprise. Wishing you the best, we have several really fond memories of times spent there when we visited Tehachapi. We'll miss you when we're in town again.

I cannot express enough how much I will miss Mama Hillybeans -- I would drive up sometimes 3 times a months just to eat, drink, & spend time appreciating the atmosphere, the great people, coffee, & food. The open mic nights were something to be cherished, contemplated, & remembered. Though I feel nothing can really replace Mama Hillybeans, I hope that very soon the community of Tehachapi will have another place where people can congregate, learn, share, & be inspired... I love & miss you all & I miss Mama Hillybeans! :(

Mama Hillybeans, you are very much missed by my husband and I. The cafe held some of our best memories. It was TRULY a COMMUNITY place that touched the hearts of many, a place for all walks of life, freedom to express the soul and find kindred spirits. You are very much missed...

Say it ain't so! I just found out you were closed. I lost my house in Tehachapi last year and was forced to move to L.A. I came for a return visit yesterday to find you gone. Mama Hillybeans was my favorite place to go. Very sad. All the best to all of you who created it.

Thanks for the memories. Will Mama Hillybean's ever reopen? Love to you all.
