The vision for Mama Hillybean's Coffee and Community is of a community center where all are welcome. We believe that food, music and art bring people together and break down barriers. Our goal is to inspire each other collectively to help make this world a better place.
All of our food is made from scratch and is about 95% organic. If we can find it organic (preferably local), it is organic. All of our coffee and tea is organic and fair trade. Fair trade means that the people growing the products are receiving a fair price for their labor. We use compostable to-go containers and our paper products are recycled. We encourage everybody to be conscientious about the effect our choices have on the environment.
In our eco-friendly gift area we sell organic cotton and hemp products along with locally made art and music. We also sell organic/fair trade coffee and tea in bulk. We offer free wireless internet throughout with two computers in the media room for customer use. We have rotating art shows featuring local artists. We also have a free book lending library and an indoor kids play area. In nice weather, our outdoor patio is very pleasant and a community garden is in the works. We host larger concerts in the summer on our outdoor stage.
We have a lot going on! Check our schedule for movie and art nights, featured chef nights and unique cuisine. Tues. is acoustic jam night-7 pm. Wed. is Open Mic Night- 7pm. Sundays are reserved for special events, such as concerts, theater and private parties. The coffeehouse is available to rent on Sundays with or without catering.
